As indicated in Tourism Strategy of Turkey 2023 and Action Plan, the development of different types of alternative tourism throughout the country, the creation of brand tourism areas will be the primary goal of tourism in order to establish well-known touristic regions rather than focusing on cheap products. In this sense, Sinop hosted important personalities of the time and also it is the hometown of an important writer of Turkish Literature besides its natural beauties, ecological factors and historical and cultural factors. Literature, which can greatly promote the concept of alternative tourism, is an element of cultural mobility for thousands of tourists from many counturies in Europe, and it’s necessary to see its deserved importance in our country for tourism,too. With decision of University board of director on 02.04.2013 , “Ahmet Muhip Dıranas” name was given to our Practice Hotel who is an important writer from Sinop. In addition, our hotel will be the Turkey’s first “Literary-themed Practice Hotel”. Besides its library, with the regulation to be made in our hotel for example, original names will be given to our departments , and our hotel will be a different model to the others with its different concept.

Practice Hotel of Sinop University is situated so close to the 22nd National Park of Turkey which is famous for its wide range of flora and fauna and has a wonderful peninsula and Sinop city view where the blue and green meets. Our Hotel is 6 km far from the Airport, 8 km from the Central Bus Station and 12 km to City center.

Including 5 suits, our Practice Hotel has 63 rooms totally and total bed amount is 135. Size of the standard room is 15 m2 and suit room is 35 m2. All rooms have central heating, central air conditioning, telephone , TV, wireless internet, mini – bar and 24 hours hot water. Our Hotel has A’la Carte 130 – person capacity and it has an Open – buffet Restaurant with 110 – person capacity. Hotel Concept is BB ( Bed and Breakfast ). Our guests can also be gladly serviced for lunch and dinner by charging extra. In addition to Kitchen Department which consists of different parts, there is Laundry, House keeping offices, System Control Room, Technical Services and Staff Rooms in the hotel building. Our Practice Hotel has a Conference – Hall serving multi – purposes for 238 people, and also there is a Meeting Room for 50 people and an office. Besides, hotel has its own Parking Area for 30 cars.
